Summary[edit]

Description A U.S. Navy Grumman KA-6D Intruder (BuNo 151793) of Attack Squadron VA-165 "Boomers" refuels a North American RA-5C Vigilante (BuNo 156621) of Reconnaissance Attack Squadron RVAH-5 "Savage Sons" over the Indian Ocean. A McDonnell F-4J-35-MC Phantom II (BuNo 155787) of Fighter Squadron VF-96 "Fighting Falcons" is flying in the background. All squadrons were assigned to Carrier Air Wing 9 (CVW-9) aboard the aircraft carrier USS Constellation (CVA-64) for a deployment to the Western Pacific and the Indian Ocean from 21 June to 23 December 1974.
