DescriptionKathleen Kondilas's Madonna & Child.jpg |
Kathleen Kondilas's "Madonna & Child", which was exhibited in the Elvis & Marilyn 2X Immortal Exhibition. On November 1, 1994 Boston Globe's Christine Temin wrote "However entertaining this show is, it has a sad aspect as well, in works including Kathleen Kondilas' "Madonna and Child," where the image of Monroe bleeds through a Byzantine madonna. Both figures are equally hieratic and unknowable. The most poignant point of the show is, in fact, that celebrity wipes out individuality." |
