Summary[edit]
DescriptionKincardine Bridge - geograph.org.uk - 274137.jpg |
English: When Kincardine Bridge was opened in 1936 it was not only the first road crossing of The Firth of Forth it was also the longest swing bridge in Europe. The centre section was able to swing open to allow large ships to pass upstream to Alloa, but when the port closed in the 1980s there was no need for the bridge to open, the last time it was opened was in 1988. |
