Object history

In the collection of the Dordt's museum since 1975, this painting was commissioned for the chapel of St. John the Evangelist of the Grote kerk in Dordrecht in 1560, where it hung up until the Reformation and in 1572 was moved to the Dordrecht city hall.

  • 1560: commissioned by chapel of St. John the Evangelist of the Grote kerk in Dordrecht
  • 1572 (reformation): transferred to Dordrecht city hall
  • 1975: transferred to Dordrechts Museum
