Summary[edit]

Description Also known as the cabbage white this large member of the Pieridae family is often regarded as a pest but cabbages are only one of its foods and the damage done is far outweighed by the health of the environment that these wonderful creatures represent. Modern thinking is to cover cabbages in netting to dissuade the butterfly from laying rather than using chemicals.
