Summary[edit]
DescriptionLinear earthwork on The Street drove road - geograph.org.uk - 1423678.jpg |
English: Linear earthwork on The Street drove road There are several examples of linear banks and ditches that appear to have been dug to act act as control points for The Street drove road although there is scant evidence for why or when they were made. This 'cross-dyke' appears to join the west and east valleys of Philip Hope and Outer Hare Cleugh with a large gap at the col between them through which The Street is seen to pass http://canmore.rcahms.gov.uk/en/site/59059/details/outer+hare+cleuch/
The backdrop consists of the Cheviot massif cut by the deep scar of Hen Hole. The hill to the left is The Schil, and to the right further in the distance, Hedgehope. |
