At Los Angeles, preparing for the late evening departure to Munich. Excellent service on board. Service is not as posh/pampering as on an Asian airline, but nevertheless the meals were of good quality, and the flight attendants competent. As I prefer that my flight attendants be safety professionals rather than air hostesses, this works out just fine for me. In short, flying Lufthansa is about Germanic efficiency and professionalism. Prior to this trip, all my visits to Europe used United Airlines. United had given me a very similar spirit of excellence in the 1990s, but the difficult years around the 2002 bankruptcy filing, and a greedy management, had really chipped away at the spirit. Glad to rediscover that spirit of excellence aboard Lufthansa. This was my first flight on Lufthansa and hopefully there will be many more. "There is no better way to fly." Indeed!
