| Description |
The original Madison Square Garden was at Madison Square, located at the intersection of Broadway, Madison Avenue, and 23rd Street, but it was moved in the 1960s to this location, at 33rd Street and 7th Avenue, on top of Penn Station. The demolition of the old Penn Station building caused a lot of uproar, and New York City has been much more proactive about protecting its architecture since. Madison Square Garden is the home to NBA's New York Knicks and NHL's New York Rangers. It is also the primary venue in New York City for popular music concerts. |
