| Description |
English: Manchester Victoria, side entrance When Metrolink construction had started, there was obvious disruption and inconvenience to motorists and others, so the authorities put up large posters telling everyone what it was all about. In an interesting example of 'spin', the word 'tram', which was seen as having negative connotations, was completely banned. The system was called 'Metrolink', and the vehicles would be 'Metrocars'. Needless to say, nowadays a tram is called a tram! |
