Description
English: Mascarenhas de Moraes Dam in Ibiraci, Minas Gerais, Brazil (formerly known as Peixoto Dam). Built by Companhia Paulista de Força e Luz (a regional power company) and opened in 1957, Peixoto was the first major hydroelectric plant built in the Rio Grande. Acquired by Furnas Energia in 1973, it has an installed capacity of 476 MW and was recently retrofitted.
Português: Represa Mascarenhas de Moraes em Ibiraci, Minas Gerais, Brasil (anteriormente conhecida como Represa de Peixoto). Construída pela Companhia Paulista de Força e Luz e inaugurada em 1957, Peixoto foi a primeira grande usina hidrelétrica erguida no Rio Grande. Adquirida pela Furnas Energia em 1973, têm uma capacidade instalada de 476 MW e foi recentemente modernizada.
