| Description |
English: Maudland Road bridge, Preston This road bridge was built by a railway company to cross the Lancaster Canal and appears to serve as a garage for cars belonging to staff at the University of Central Lancashire, in the grounds of which the photographer was standing. The massive height of the bridge the road in the foreground is higher than the surface of the former canal is because, behind the trees to the left, Maudland Road makes a junction with Maudland Bank on top of a railway bridge, the railway having in turn having crossed above the canal just behind the trees seen through the arch of the road bridge. |
