| Description |
Great confusion has resulted from this MiG-23 being repainted as '231 blue' to match the other MiG-23 at Monino. This is, in fact, the third prototype originally coded '233 blue' and with the c/n 23-11/1. There are several differences between this and the real '231' and I suspect that this aircraft was modified at some point into a standard that is more similar to the service aircraft. Its c/n is often reported as 0393202201 and a suspect that this was applied when the modifications were carried out. I'm just guessing though! It is on display at the Russian Air Force Museum.
