DescriptionMitsubishi A6M2 USA 1942.jpg | A Japanese Mitsubishi A6M2 Zero fighter in flight in 1942. It was captured intact by U.S. forces in July 1942 on Akutan Island, Alaska (USA) and became the first flyable Zero acquired by the United States during the Second World War. It made its first test flight in the U.S. on 20 September 1942 and was destroyed during a training accident in February 1945. |
