Summary[edit]

Description

New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina: House on Esplanade Ridge in the Bayou St. John neighborhood was elevated just above the flooding. Note lines from long standing water on front stoops. Trashed refrigerator (6 weeks without power in the hot southern summer often rendered refrigerators which hadn't been emptied before the storm unusable even if they escaped flooding) on curb along with bags of trash, as pick up was still very irregular in October.
