Español: Paciente masculino 8 años con cuadro clínico de 8 días de evolución de aumento del volumen nasal posterior a trauma facial contra árbol. Refiere espistaxis en dos ocasiones por fosa nasal derecha, último hace 4 días. Adicionalmente, obstrucción nasal bilateral. Al examen físico externo presenta aumento del volumen de la porción distal del dorso nasal con eritema en este mismo. A la rinoscopia anterior y como se observa en la foto, se observa que el aumento del volumen nasal es a expensas del tabique nasal que presenta aumentado de tamaño bilateralmente, obstruyendo ambas fosas, con salida escasa de moco. Se diagnostica hematoma septal. English: A 8 years old boy arrived to the emergency departament with increased volume of his nose in the last 8 days after sustaining a facial trauma with a tree. He had epistaxis twice and bilateral nasal obstruction. At external examination he had increased volume in the distal portion of the nasal dorsum with mild erythema. Anterior rhinoscopy (see photo) shows swelling arising from the nasal septum bilateraly blocking the nostrils, with little mucus. Nasal septal hematoma was diagnosed. |
