Summary[edit]
DescriptionNew townhouse under construction on the old quay, newburgh. - geograph.org.uk - 569849.jpg |
English: New townhouse under construction on the old quay, newburgh. The old quay at Newburgh is the site of an old granary. Coal and lime were brought up the estuary of the Ythan by steamer and unloaded on the quay. The ship was then loaded with barley and oats for the return journey to ports in the South.
The granary was demolished in 2007 to be replaced with town houses each costing close to a half million pounds. |
