Português: As Furnas de Santo António enquadram - se numa área classificada como Zona de Protecção Especial (ZPE) junto á linha de costa, constituída por uma falésia rochosa e pelos ilhéus, formações basálticas, onde nidificam colónias de aves marinhas, como o Cagarro (Calonectris diomedea borealis), Garajau – Rosado (Sterna dougalii) e o Garajau – Comum (Sterna hirundo), de grande interesse ecológico. Também se pode encontrar o Morcego endémico dos Açores (Nyctalus azoreum) |
