Description

El Presidente del Consejo de Ministros, César Villanueva, la Canciller Eda Rivas, el Ministro de Defensa, Pedro Cateriano, y la Ministra de la Producción, Gladys Triveño, presidieron hoy la ceremonia de partida de la Vigésima Segunda Campaña Científica del Perú a la Antártida (ANTAR XXII), que se realizará del 26 de diciembre al 14 de marzo a bordo del Buque de Investigación Científica “Humboldt”.

Esta expedición de científicos nacionales tendrá como objetivos principales profundizar los estudios de los ecosistemas en el Estrecho de Bransfield y alrededores de la Isla Elefante; así como desarrollar los estudios de factibilidad para desarrollar un proyecto de glaciología en Punta Crepín. Del mismo modo, actualizará los estudios técnicos que permitan contar con la línea base necesaria para la formulación de proyectos de fortalecimiento de la infraestructura antártica nacional, evaluará las condiciones de la Estación Científica Antártica “Machu Picchu”, y buscará fortalecer la cooperación científica con otros Estados Parte del Tratado Antártico.
