Description

The flag of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (right) and the UN flag, side by side, symbolizing the close collaboration between MONUSCO and the host country. The photo was taken at the inauguration ceremony of an ammunition depot built by MONUSCO in Kisangani, the capital of the Eastern province. The infrastructure, which is part of a project aiming to increase security in the country, was handed over to the national authorities in the presence of the Congolese Defense Minister and the Deputy Special Representative of the Secretary-General and Humanitarian Coordinator in the DRC, Moustapha Soumaré, in October. Le drapeau de la République démocratique du Congo (à droite) et celui de l’ONU, côte-à-côte, symbolisant ainsi la bonne collaboration entre la MONUSCO et le pays hôte. La photo a été prise à la cérémonie d’inauguration d’un dépôt de munitions construit par la MONUSCO à Kisangani, capitale de la province Orientale. Le bâtiment dont la construction fait partie d’un projet visant à améliorer la sécurité dans le pays, a été remis à la partie congolaise en octobre en présence du Ministre congolais de la Défense et du Représentant spécial adjoint du Secrétaire général des Nations Unies et Coordonnateur humanitaire en RDC, Moustapha Soumaré.
