Description Икона "Покров Пресвятой Богородицы с предстоящими Василием и Иоанном Блаженными". 1780-е. Москва. Монументальная икона (3,5х2,45 м) написна специально для южного фасада Покровского собора. Она имеет уникальный состав сюжетов и святых, связанных с посвящением престолов храма. В верхней части - изображение иконы "Покров Пресвятой Богородицы", которую несут два ангела, с фигурами Андрея Юродивого, императора Льва, императрицы Феофано и патриарха Тарасия. По сторонам - фигуры предстоящих иконе Василия Блаженного и Иоанна Юродивого, святых, похороненных в соборе. В центре - сцена их жития Василия Блаженного "Чудо спасения на море корабля персидских купцов".
