Summary[edit]
DescriptionPolygone funiculaire equivalence objet treillis.svg |
English: A funicular polygon is obtained by replacing the object by a truss linking the points where the force apply. The equilibrium at each node gives a polygon of forces, the global polygon of forces is obtained by putting together all the polygons. The pole is point that is common to all polygons. For the resolution of problems, a pole is taken outside the polygon of forces, and the nodes of the truss are different from the application points (the moment arm does not change when the force is applied at another point of its supporting line).
