Porslinsvaser med lejon, gjorda i Kina 1662-1722.
Nyckelord: Vaser
Description
Vase. Pair of porcelain vases with crackled glaze and simulated bronze mountsQing dynasty, c.1865-75The shape and decoration of the vases were inspired by ancient bronze vessels. The body has a crackled glaze while the imitation mounts were left unglazed, stained brown with an iron dressing and gilded, to simulate gilt bronze. Pieces in this style were a popular type of export ware, produced in China in the second half of the 19th century. In the Victoria and Albert Museum is a comparable vase (accession number 21-1876) that was acquired in 1876, pointing to a probable manufacturing date of c.1865-75. The Hallwyl vases were acquired a little later in 1897, from the art dealer Sigrid Sundborg in Stockholm, but probably date to much the same period as the V&A vase.
