Description
Polski: Porytowe Wzgórze - miejsce jednej z największych bitew partyzanckich okresu II wojny światowej. Był to finał niemieckiej akcji pacyfikacyjnej Sturmwind I (Wicher I), która rozegrała się w dniach 9-14 czerwca 1944 r. Do akcji przeciw partyzantom skierowano siły liczące ok. 30 tysięcy bardzo dobrze wyszkolonych żołnierzy (w tym 3 dywizje Wehrmachtu i samoloty 4 Floty Powietrznej). Zgrupowanie partyzanckie liczyło ok. 3000 ludzi. Wśród nich było 100 żołnierzy z AK i BCh, 700 z AL i 1900 partyzantów radzieckich. Po zaciętych walkach partyzanci wycofali się nocą z 14/15 czerwca w dalsze rejony Puszczy Solskiej. Zgrupowanie zachowało przy tym pełną zdolność bojową. Po wojnie na Porytowym Wzgórzu utworzono cmentarz partyzancki, odsłonięto także pomnik dłuta Bronisława Chromego. Przedstawia on 5 biegnących partyzantów, pomiędzy którymi wybucha granat. Obok krzyż i głaz pamięci żołnierzy AK i BCh.
