Summary[edit]
DescriptionPotter Street Baptist chapel, Harlow, Essex.jpg |
First founded in 1662 the present Baptist Chapel at Potter Street, Harlow, is dated to 1756. To put that date in context, this is the year before the events described in the film 'Last of the Mohicans' which was set in 1757! There's not many Hurons or Mohicans in Essex but I wonder how many people from Essex were on the new frontier in America in that year. Best viewed large to get the detail in the brickwork. Coincidentally this is my first Non-Conformist church on Flickr. |
