| Description |
English: Quarrying at West Knighton A significant part of this square is taken up with pits, quarrying for sand and gravel. There are some bridleways preserved between the quarries and this picture is taken from the one in the north-west corner of the square looking east. Another bridleway runs to the right (south) of this pit. The depth of quarrying can thus be seen. The 1:25K map shows this as pit (dis) but it is definitely being worked. |
