Description

Recently gentrified Cherry Street Diner, corner of Cherry and Commissionsers streets.

For decades there were two diners with 1950-60s era fixtures on Cherry Street, the Cherry Street Diner at Commissioners Street, and the Canary Diner on Front Street. The Canary Diner closed a few years ago all the commercial buildings east of it were demolished to make room for redevelopment. I thought this diner was going to close too -- but it seems to have been closed for gentrification, , to have opened after losing the original fixtures, and to have aimed at a more upscale clientele.
