Description

The Red Crystal, a protection symbol according to the Additional Protocol III (2005) to the Geneva Conventions of 1949, shown with the Red Star of David symbol inside. While the empty crystal without any additional symbols confers protection for certain persons, buildings, vehicles etc. in an armed conflict according to International Humanitarian Law, the combination of the crystal with an additional symbol has no protective meaning and can only be used by national aid societies for indicative purposes. The combination of the red crystal is with the Red Star of David is intended for use by Magen David Adom, the national aid society of the state of Israel, for missions abroad (pending permission by the host country).
