Black (0) marks empty areas (compare empty set). White (1) means, that there could be something. There are corresponding diagrams of the sixteen 2-ary Boolean operations in the Category:Johnston diagrams, using the colors white (0) and red (1). The following picture, showing the transformation between Venn- and Euler diagrams, explains, how black areas are to be seen: as not existent. See examples: w:en:User:Boolean hexadecimal |
