Description
The 1848 Revolution put an end to the reign of Louis-Philippe. It was associated with the 1789 Revolution, because it triggered the collapse of the monarchy the emergence of a Republic. This print shows celebrations of the first anniversary of the 1848 Revolution. These took place in the church of La Madeleine, where a mass was celebrated in honour of the event. The characters in the main alley are members of the new government and of the National Guard.
