Summary[edit]

Description
English:  :Return to Kitty Hawk
Navy Lt. Cmdr. Klas “Santa” Ohman, a USS Kitty Hawk-based F/A-18C Hornet aviator, completes a flight in a replica of the 1902 Wright brothers’ glider. The 1902 Wright glider was the first aircraft incorporating yaw, pitch and roll controls, and by most aviation historians considered to be a very significant milestone in aviation history. The replica is built by Wright Brothers’ Aeroplane Company, an educational organization established to further the interests of young people in aviation careers. The USS Kitty Hawk is the United States’ only permanently forward-deployed aircraft carrier, operating out of Yokosuka, Japan. U.S. Navy photo by PH1(AW) Shane T. McCoy
