| Description |
English: Riband Wave moths (Idaea aversata) - in defiance of the theory of selective breeding! One can only wonder from which gene pool these two were derived as they rest in clear view on a window pane.
Roughly equal in numbers, two distinct forms of the species occurs so there is a reasonable chance that one of each should appear at the same time! The typical form is the one with a dark band across all four wings, the plain form, ab. remutata, has only narrow cross-lines. |
