| Description |
English: River Thames in foreground perched above flooded gravel pit. The river here is a perched gravel bed and dries every summer as the groundwater level drops; the lake in background drops, but does not dry out. It is assumed the river was diverted to feed mills at Ashton Keynes. The original river course is lost in this area. The Thames here flows left to right. |
