Description
English: Gravestone in Bowness-on-Windermere Cemetery, Cumbria, for Sergeant 77138 Robert (Bob) Atkinson, Northumberland Fusiliers, son of Enoch and Anna of Ferry Nab, Bowness, Windermere. He died in hospital on 19 March 1920, aged 29.
The inscription commemorates also Bob's brother, Lieutenant Frank Atkinson, 62 Squadron, Royal Flying Corps and Royal Air Force. He died of wounds in Kassel, Germany, on 10 July 1918, aged 19, and is buried in Niederzwehren Cemetery, Hesse, Germany.
