Description

Major Ryan Gutzwiller, commander coalition landing forces Western Africa Training Cruise 06, meets with Major General Gueye, deputy chief of staff for the Senegalese forces during a reception held Nov. 8, in Senegal. The reception took place during Green Osprey a UK led exercise involving service members of the United States, Spain, Italy, UK, Norway, Netherlands, and Senegal. The exercise included small boat training, riverine operations, live-fire exercises, and amphibious raids. Green Osprey is the final portion of WATC, with approximately 60 Marines participating. The cruise is conducted to enhance security cooperation and foster new partnerships between the United States, participating NATO partners Italy and Spain, and the West African nations of Ghana, Guinea, and Senegal through real-world training and engagement opportunities.
