Summary[edit]
DescriptionShintoShrineHyakudoIshiM0872.jpg |
This photograph shows a Shinto shrine (Jinja). The upright stone in the foreground is a hyakudo-ishi (one-hundred-times stone). A worshipper with a special prayer will visit the shrine a hundred times, praying on each visit. After praying, the worshipper must go away from the shrine at least around this hyakudo-ishi for the next visit to count as a separate visit. The shrine is within the grounds of Wakayama Castle.
