Description

This time to Shirley Station, caught the 49 bus from the Stratford Road down Haslucks Green Road.

Only came here so I could walk a section of the Stratford-upon-Avon Canal nearby.

Shirley railway station serves Shirley area of Solihull in the West Midlands of England. The station, and all trains serving it, are operated by London Midland.

The station was built in 1908, complete with small goods yard with goods shed. However, this has since been removed (though a siding still exists) and the site taken over by E H Smith.

If this line loses staffed ticket offices, I would prefer them to install actual ticket machines, like what they have on the Cross City line.
