| Description |
English: Signpost, Kingston-on-Soar This part of Nottinghamshire still retains quite a number of tradition signpost, often like this one, of concrete with the fingers slotted in. Here the Nottingham and Derby fingers are of an older generation, showing distances to the nearest quarter mile. The third finger is of more recent date and shows sloppy attention to detail. Sutton Bonington is misspelt with a double n, and the letters have been set so that they disappear into the upright. On the other side, the blank space is at the upright end, so it looks as if the same draft information was applied to both sides without taking this factor into account! |
