Summary[edit]

Description
English: Southern Vectis 625 (K125 BUD), a Volvo B10B/Northern Counties Paladin, in Victoria Grove, Whippingham, Isle of Wight, on route 25. Route 25 is a new route started on 6 September 2010, running between East Cowes and Newport via Hawthorn Meadows (a new housing estate), Whippingham and the Folly Inn. It is funded by a developer. It also serves Hefford Road in East Cowes, bringing buses back to that area of East Cowes after route 4 was diverted away from the area from 5 April 2009. The route replaces the Newport - Folly Inn section of route 29 which was withdrawn as part of the September 2010 timetables changes. The route was intended to be run by bus 507 which Southern Vectis had acquired, with 625 being used in its place while it was made ready. However, plans later changed, with route 25 being run with some of the Optare Solos SV have now acquired. Ex-Bluestar 625 is now being converted to some sort of open vehicle for use on the new Shanklin summer service which replaced the Road Train, which was withdrawn in 2010. This photo was taken on the third day of the new route.
