| Description |
English: Spring Sown Field This field of spring sown field cereal crop is just beginning to sprout green shoots. The underlying rock is not chalk but boulder clay dropped by glaciers which moved over the chalk wolds to the east scraping up chalk on the way. It is this which gives the soil a rich peppering of white chalk. |
