Description
English: Lilian Gresham, State Commissioner for Girl Guides Queensland, in Warwick, 1948 Lilian Gresham, M.B.E., began a long association with Girl Guides when she joined the West Maitland Company in New South Wales. Continuing to rise within the association, she was appointed District Commissioner for Bathurst, Forbes and Cowra. In 1937 she moved to Brisbane and became a member of the local association at Indooroopilly. By 1945 she was elected State Commissioner, the youngest State Commissioner ever to take office. She led the Australian delegation to the World Conference in Norway in 1952 and was presented to the Princess Royal, H.R.H. Princess Mary, Commonweatlh President.
