Summary[edit]

Description
English: Queensland agricultural trophy, Franco-British Exhibition, London, 1908.

Queensland agricultural display in the Australia Pavilion at the Franco-British Exhibition, Shepherd's Bush, London, in 1908. On display are specimens of fruit, grain, and tinned pineapples. The Queenslander newspaper cites comments about the Queensland court from the then Queensland Premier, William Kidston: 'It has one admirable feature which is worthy of special attention. We have not spent money in the employment of London decorators, but have shown our exhibits here just as we would have shown them in Brisbane. The result is a much more genuine demonstration of what Queensland and Queensland's men can do in that way than the costly, ornamental, and more or less artistic trophies and things of that sort which have been put up in some of the other courts. I am very pleased indeed with the work our own men have done in making use of the materials supplied to them. Briefly, we have made a very attractive show.'.
