Summary[edit]

Description
English: Block statue of the High Priest of Amun Bakenkhonsu, who served under Ramesses II. The incriptions attest that Bakenkhonsu was born in Thebes and describe his juvenile education. From Karnak, great temple, 7th pylon, north face. Original statue datable to late of the 18th dynasty, then re-used in the teimes of Ramesses II, 19th dynasty, New Kingdom. Cairo, Egyptian Museum CG 42155 (JE 37522).
