English: A 'Black 5' with a self-weighing tender at Stockport (Edgeley) station. View southward from the Down Main platform: ex-LNW Crewe - Manchester main line, junction for Stalybridge etc. No. 44697 was built 12/50, being an Ivatt variant with roller-bearings, lasting until 11/67. It ran with a self-weighing tender - for accurate measurement of coal consumption, for many years. |
