| Description |
English: Stanier 8F 2-8-0 working on Western Region at Stourbridge Junction, 1958. View southward, towards Kidderminster and Worcester on the main line from Wolverhampton and Birmingham. The bay platform used by the shuttle to Stourbridge Town beyond the name-board. No. 48460, on the Down Class H mineral train, is one of 95 LMS 8F's built at Swindon during the War (1943-45) and not only used by the hard-pressed GWR until 1947 but many of which were returned to the Western Region for many years during the 1950's; it survived until 9/67. |
