Summary[edit]

Description
English: Stream below Providence mine This unnamed stream flows through the middle of the disused Providence lead mine workings, and then on down to join Cliff Beck in the valley below. Water was an important part of the mining process where it was used to wash away the top soil to find the ore in a 'hush'. Water was also used to help separate the ore from the waste. Below the wall to the left the old O.S. maps are inscribed 'Providence Hush'.
