English: Picture of the inside of a stuffed beef and cheese sopapilla at the La Paloma Mexican Restaurant located at 1112 Hebron Road in Heath, Ohio, on March 10, 2006. This sopapilla is topped with lettuce, tomatoes and sour cream with a little black pepper sprinkled on too. Unlike many dessert sopapillas that are out there and sold at numerous Mexican restaurants around this part of the country, this is a main course type of sopapilla stuffed with beef and cheese and covered in deep-fried breading. Because of this, the restaurant is legendary in the Heath and Newark, Ohio, area, where it has been around since 1975. One would think that this type of food would have spread far and wide across the whole United States by now, but stuffed sopapilla fans like me are still waiting for this to happen. |
