Description
Deutsch: Die Talsperre Eibenstock im Erzgebirgskreis ist im Freistaat Sachsen sowohl diejenige Talsperre mit dem größten Fassungsvermögen wie auch diejenige mit der höchsten Absperrmauer. Gestaut wird das Wasser der Zwickauer Mulde. Die Talsperre dient der Trinkwasserversorgung im Raum Chemnitz und Zwickau, dem Hochwasserschutz, der Niedrigwasseraufhöhung während niederschlagsarmer Zeiten und – in geringem Maße – der Stromerzeugung aus Wasserkraft. Mit ihren Maßen ist sie die zweitgrößte Trinkwassertalsperre auf dem Gebiet der neuen Bundesländer. Naturpark Erzgebirge/Vogtland und Landschaftsschutzgebiet in Sachsen.
