Description
Polski: Dystrybucja obiektów transneptunowych wykazujących rezonans orbitalny z Neptunem. Wykres utworzony w programie autorstwa Eurocommutera.

Wykres

Pozycja obiektu reprezentuje:

  • półoś wielką jego orbity (a) w jednostkach astronomicznych oraz okres obiegu (P) w latach (na osi poziomej),
  • inklinację jego orbity w stopniach (na osi pionowej).

Rozmiary kółek reprezentują względną wielkość ciał. Dla kilku dużych ciał, rozmiar kółka odpowiada najlepszej obecnej ocenie rozmiaru. Dla wszystkich pozostałych kółka reprezentują absolutną wielkość gwiazdową obiektu. Mimośród orbity jest ukazany nie wprost, w postaci linii rozciągających się od kółka do odległości odpowiadającej peryhelium i aphelium ciała. Innymi słowy, temu przedziałowi odpowiada przedział zmienności odległości ciała od Słońca - wąski dla prawie kołowych orbit i szeroki dla ciał o bardzo ekscentrycznych orbitach. Rezonanse z Neptunem są zaznaczone pionowymi czerwonymi liniami: 1:1 wskazuje orbitę Neptuna (i jego trojańczyków), 2:3 odpowiada orbicie Plutona i innych plutonków, ciała w rezonansie 1:2 to twotina itd.
