| Description |
English: The Blue Lias, near Stockton This canal-side pub takes its name from the limestone and clay deposits which are quarried locally for the production of cement. These deposits were laid down in the jurassic period and fossils of marine dinosaurs have been found in the area - hence the design of the pub's sign. |
