At the National Tramway Museum in Crich. The Museum started in the 1950s / 60s when most of the old tram networks in the cities of the UK were being closed down. The Tramway Museum Society was formed in the late 1940s when the decline began and they started to purchase the trams, track etc. The Crich site came to the attention of the society in the late 1950s. They later purchased the site. The Great Exhibition Hall - Century of Trams Exhibition Leeds 602 Leeds City Transport One of three experimental tramcars, the others being 600 and 601. 602 is the only tramcar at the museum to use VAMBAC. It is identical to 601 including the livery but differs from 601 in the control system and bogies, 601 using EP and having lightweight bogies. 601 was preserved, but was destroyed in an Arson attack. On display in the Exhibition Hall. Glasgow 1297 seen behind to the right. |
